The Layered Look by Marc Awodey in SevenDays, Burlington, Vt. 11-8-00 reviewing a solo show at Helen Day Art Center, Stowe, Vt.

"....Robinson's works are evocative and multi-layered. She's an inventive figurative painter, but also a visual storyteller whose language is clear yet technically complex...

In "She Turns Her Back on the Old Century," Robinson presents transfers of the Eiffel Tower as a symbol of beauty in the industrial age. Several Eiffels animate the large-scale, vertical piece, creating a jumble of modernity that sprouts like wildflowers in fields of brown and green. Other transfered elements have been layered into obscurity as a translucent woman in a long yellow dress ascends from the scene toward the upper right hand corner of the piece, and through a background of indigo and purple....

This is a substantial collection of works by a uniquely inspired artist whose technical skill is as refined as her vision."
