Blurry-eyed Cataract Art
As my eyes move closer to Cararact Surgery, I respond in one of two ways.
One is to break down compositions into bolder, clearer images. No details and narrative reduced to element. Abstraction, yet for me the story I intended to paint is still there, carried in the paint.
Two is reverting to my wild and messy childhood self, the kid who fought coloring between the lines. In a flurry of paint, I just let it all happen. Sometimes narrative elements are still visible.
They might seem the opposite but it doesn't feel that way in the least.
