Overwhelmed with the need to outrun the plague besetting their land, this family heads off. Their horse looks capable of carrying them as far as they need to go, though they have no idea how far that will be.
In my rural state, property values soar as city dwellers seek safe haven for their families. This impulse inspired this painting.
