Site-specific Sculpture
I embedded this dress and Easter hat, a bit of my younger daughter's childhood, in cement in a feeble attempt to stop time.
It was shown for some weeks at the edge of a grocery store parking lot as a result of the manager's momentary interest in the arts. As far as I know, no one noticed it in any way.
In a statement about the fate of the family farm, I similarily cemented overalls, a straw hat and some farm rubbish. This assemblage was equally ignored but I thought both were real insights into childhood and vanishing traditions.
